NGO Photographer
Based in Johannesburg South Africa, I've been a photographer since 2005. Telling the stories of those less fortunate, forgotten, unseen, in pain, or violated is when a photographer's moral conscious needs to be on the side of humanity. Living in South Africa, one of the most unequal societies in the world, means there is much awareness to be made. Their stories need to be heard and seen. Strong images speak for themselves. Without a strong sense of empathy and compassion a photographer's lens wont find them. It has to be instinctive. With a upper class Social Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in sociology, psychology, social anthropology and the experience of capturing families since 2005, I read the nuances.
