Professional headshots make great first impressions for business and personal purposes.

Headshots and portraits are often referred to interchangeably, so let me clear this up. Headshots are pretty straight forward. It is a head-and-shoulders portrait that focuses on the face and helps identify you. A portrait is less formal and more enlightening. Portraits reveal something about your personality, whether through a head-and-shoulder or full-length photo. Dramatic lighting or use of props help achieve this.

For 15 years plus I have to produce eye-catching headshots for:

Accountants, Actors, Architect, Artists, Athletes, Attorneys, Authors, Bankers, Bloggers, Celebrities, Dancers, Delegates, Doctors, Entertainers, Entrepreneurs, Executives, Individuals, Influencers, Insurers, Investors, Lawyers, Marketers, Medical Personnel, Models, Musicians, Politicians, Professionals, Realtors, Sales People, Singers, Speakers, Sportsmen, Surgeons, Students, Teachers and Therapists.

Studio vs Location

There are different types of headshot sessions.

The "studio style" headshot is taken on a seamless backdrop with no props using studio lighting. Traditional background colours are white, black & storm grey. These headshots are taken at my professional Johannesburg studio as well as on location using my mobile studio setup.

The "on location" headshot is taken against a selected background using available or fill light. Accessible environments are in-and-a

round offices or building as well as outdoors.

It is essential that whatever background is selected people should never see the background before they see you in front of it.

My headshot sessions are enjoyable. Leave it to me to make you feel at ease, attend to the small details, direct your posing and capture your natural expressions. You will look approachable, relaxed, confident, professional and genuine. Most importantly, you will be comfortable sharing them with your audience.

I take many exposures during a session. You select your final images from a digital contact sheet. I recommend you get a second opinion because we are so critical of ourselves. I deliver your final high-resolution image files via WeTransfer for you to download and backup. Lost images are retrievable for a service fee.

Getting Ready

Plan your wardrobe. It should be appropriate so that you look the part. If in doubt, bring several options. I will give recommendations regarding the selection. If you need to have your hair cut, do it a week earlier to allow it to settle. If you get your make-up done for the shoot, ensure you still look like yourself. To avoid marks and creases on your outfit, don't wear it to the studio. Bring it separately.
