JOHANNESBURG child PHOTOGRAPHy

I'm a Johannesburg child photographer, creating unforgettable child photos for discerning clients since 2005, this extraordinary time in your child's life.

Time flies. I can stop it.

Examples

With my strikingly crafted light, I'll create timeless works of art to set your child's portraits above the average to remember for a lifetime.

Simple Pricing

It is a value-for-value exchange and an incredible investment.

I charge a professional rate of R2500 for my time, equipment and creative juices.

From an incredible selection of images, you will buy those you love. What you purchase is entirely up to you.

Images are sold individually and are R750 each.

Child

Clients

You are my typical client if you want a child photographer with a timeless style to create family art.

Your iPhone is great for other photos.

Posing

You will be surprised at how easily I will put everyone at ease - for some reason, children trust me quickly.

I pose children, and they reconfigure themselves almost immediately, and that is when I capture the moment.

In time, these photos will take you to the moment you revisit them. Not only to remind you of how their eyes twinkled but exactly how you felt then.

Expression

My superpower is seeing and knowing how to understand your child's expressions and family ties.

Trust me to make a fool of myself with everyone, which I steal at 125th of a second.

Retouching

Less is more. I specialise in the most comprehensive and detailed editing but focus on a natural retouching method.

My Style

It is crucial to choose a child photographer whose style resonates with you.

Who wants trendy or cheesy photos that date?

My portrait style has been the same since 2005; it is unique and timeless.

Your Photographer

I will be your photographer, never outsourced to another.

If I can't take your photos, I will reschedule your session.

Choose a professional child photographer with a gallery of consistently strong images, making me the perfect choice.

Clothing

Your child is the star of the show. Hide their Disney outfits. If they insist it's okay, I'm a Disney de-rober.

Plan everyone's wardrobes; although not the focus, it can throw a great photo shoot.

Wardrobe Suggestions

  • My signature look is black clothing of various textures and shades against a black background and white against a white background; the contrast makes everyone jump out.
  • Alternatively, choose a colour palette as a guide for the family.
  • Create layers using textures which provide interest - ribbed jersey, jeans or something that sparkles.
  • Avoid overpowering the photos with loud outfits unless you wear traditional or sentimental clothing.
  • Cover your arms with a long sleeve or scarf if you don't want them to show.
  • If anything needs dry cleaning or ironing, take care of it.
  • If you are unsure, browse my child gallery for ideas; call me or bring everything, and I will guide you.

Hair

If your visit to the hairdresser is due, go a week before the shoot; this way, the cut will grow a bit, and you will have time to get used to it.

Prepare for the clash of the scissors and home fringes weeks or days before your shoot. They're the best.

Hands and Nails

So often overlooked, trim everyone's nails as they become the second act when interacting. If you colour your fingernails, choose a neutral or clear tone.

Your child's dirty nails are endearing; keep things real.

Professional Makeup

Mum, I recommend natural makeup over complete makeovers but can arrange professional makeup for an additional fee.

Drink water the day before and on the day of your session. It reduces puffiness.

Backgrounds

I use black and white backgrounds for my child photo shoots.

Lighting

I typically use a simple one-light setup against black-and-white backgrounds and for silhouettes.

I want your photos to stand out from the average child's photos.

Why buy artwork when you have priceless moments?

View your child's photo session as an investment for generations to enjoy.

Remember, you can't frame a digital file.

I strongly believe in enlarged prints and professionally framed; it is so rewarding.

I am passionate about working with my clients to create a family wall gallery that can expand over time.

My studio offers a beautiful range of quality products.

Portrait

Then & Now

Not many parents wish they had fewer photos of their children; it's seldom the other way around. I have been passionate about capturing children since 2005, building families in priceless then-and-now galleries.

The next steps are easy

1. SCHEDULING

You think you have time. Next month. Next year.

Time flies. Let me make it stand still.

2. CONSULTATION

Your child photo session includes a pre-shoot telephone consultation; we will discuss wardrobe, lighting and posing styles.

I want to meet your expectations, so I will ask you to send me examples from my portfolio or elsewhere that you like.

3. SESSION

Children often take over the session. The more chaotic, the better.

Bring the grandparents - the photos will mean the world to everyone over time.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Your session begins at your scheduled start time. If you arrive late, your session will end at the planned time. Your full session fee still applies.

Your session fee is non-refundable for no-shows.
