Personal – There is fleeting, fragile beauty all around us

When my work world feels as if it is closing in on me I look for those fleeing, fragile jewels in my backyard waiting to be captured.

I know that it is a great leveller.

Zeiss glass was my friend on the occasions below – 110mm macro.

Macro photography is not easy.  One should essentially do the shoot with a tripod and cable release.

I set a theme of trying to capture them from beneath, often to the sound of Coldplay.

I had to kick the tripod idea ’cause how to you shoot a rose 600 mm from the ground?

Try it.  It’ll kill your arms, break your back and then you’ll start trembling.

Below are some of these moments I have captured over time.
