Johannesburg Maternity Photographer

My portfolio of pregnant mums, some with partners, siblings and family pets, is typical of my work for those looking for a highly recommended Johannesburg maternity photographer who works in the privacy of a professional studio.

You have probably been searching for a maternity photographer because you want photos that stand out.

Then you found me and love how my work makes you feel - you are my perfect client, and I would love to work with you.

I've captured transient, fragile slices of life, an intimate reflection of a moment in time since 2005.

I call them Stolen Moments™.

The Process

1. SCHEDULING & CONSULTATION

All sessions include a telephonic consultation. I will call you to discuss your wardrobe, posing ideas, lighting styles, and backgrounds. If you send examples of photos you like to form a picture in my mind, I will make your expectations a reality.

2. SHOOT

Even if it is your first time in front of the camera, and you don't know how to pose, I will direct and guide you - that is my superpower. My goal is to ensure you look connected and relaxed.

3. VIEWING & ORDERING

After your shoot, we will review your images. I will guide you and help you select the very best. You purchase the photos you love. What you buy is entirely up to you. There are no hard sells.

MATERNITY FAQs

I charge two fees.

I charge a session fee for your shoot and an image fee for edited images sold individually.

Maternity pricing information.
The session fee includes our pre-shoot consultation, professional equipment and my creative juices for up to 60 minutes.
The image fee includes your final edited digital image in high and low resolution, in colour and black and white, and delivered via WeTransfer.

Charging per image means I work harder than most, so you buy them all.
I require your session fee to be paid in full to secure your session.
I require full payment to edit your selected images.
I accept EFTs and credit cards.
Plan the wardrobe—nothing worse than forgetting an essential item.

Bring your outfits on hangers to avoid wrinkles. You can change into them at my studio.

Please go through my 18 Maternity Outfits Ideas.

Don't forget to bring matching nude, white and black bras and underwear.
Yes. I have a beautiful selection of elaborate gowns, fabric for draping, crop tops, formfitting dresses, lace and silk gowns, and tulle outfits.
Absolutely. I encourage partners, children and family pets to be part of this memorable experience.
Ensure you coordinate the outfits of those joining the shoot.
I typically suggest black clothes as you are the star of the show.
Moisturise your body the night before.

Wear loose-fitting clothes to your shoot to prevent marks on your skin.

If your visit to the hairdresser is due, go a week before the shoot to give your hair time to grow and get used to it.

Often overlooked, ensure your nails are trimmed or manicured. If you colour your nails, choose a neutral or clear tone.

If anything needs dry cleaning or ironing, take care of it.
For an additional fee, I can arrange a professional make-up artist.

I recommend natural make-up over complete makeovers.
No. How much skin you choose to reveal is entirely up to you.
One of my superpowers is posing you correctly, and another is my nip-and-tuck retouching skills. Both will flatter your body most extraordinarily.

I'd be a millionaire if I earned a buck for every kilogram I've shaved off in the final edits.

It is not your job to know how to pose; it is mine.

Trust me to guide and direct you throughout so you feel comfortable, empowered and beautiful.

I pay closer attention to small details like where your hair falls, your garment flow, and the positioning of your hands.
My style is simple, timeless and never trendy.

You are my perfect client if you have fallen in love with my maternity portfolio.

It is important to choose a maternity photographer whose style resonates with you.
Absolutely. We will discuss examples in our pre-shoot consultation.

Please send screengrabs via email or What's App a week beforehand so I am prepared.
If I can't take your photos, I will reschedule your session.

I will be your photographer - never outsourced.
I have an inverter to take care of blackouts.
Time permitting, we will go through your shoot immediately or arrange a convenient time for you to come back to view your photos.

I will guide you in selecting the very best. There are no hard sells.

What you purchase is entirely up to you.
You must finalise your order within four weeks of your shoot.

I archive your shoot four weeks after your photo shoot and charge a fee of R2 500 to retrieve it.

I recommend all decision-makers are at the viewing of your shoot.
Yes. I edit your images. I focus on a natural look. Less is more.
My studio offers designer photography products, including fine art prints, custom framing, photo albums, portfolio boxes, and gift vouchers.
It typically takes three to six weeks, depending on the product ordered.
I've been a portrait photographer since 2005.
I have an international Master's in portrait photography, one of only two in Africa, from The Portrait Masters, a global community of the world's best portrait photographers.

An incredible shoot experience of connecting to the power, beauty and celebration of pregnancy. Bridget is a true artist and brings to the fore the sacredness of the pregnancy journey through her photos. I couldn’t recommend Bridget more highly to any expectant mom. HINOR SACKS

Had the most amazing time at our Maternity Shoot. Bridget is such a lovely and talented photographer who truly makes the whole experience so memorable! I felt comfortable and confident! Can’t wait for many more shoots in the future! JOANA MENDES FINLAY

I was blown away. SO talented. She directed me throughout and made me laugh. I am trying to figure out how you could go wrong choosing Bridget; I look forward to returning for more beautiful classic pics. 10 out of 10 JENNA RHYS-MAITLAND

I recently did my pregnancy and newborn photoshoot with Bridget - I wish I had known her during my first pregnancy - the quality of the pictures is amazing - artistic, and to be treasured for years to come. Bridget herself is warm and patient - making the whole photo session easy. Thanks again, Bridget. ZANELE SITHOLE

It's tough to express how great Bridget's work is; the five stars are not doing justice. The quality of her work is on steroids. She is accommodating and amazing both as a person and a photographer. Bridget is the best at what she does; I will return! I am BLOWN away, worth every penny. NTUTU NGESI

Bridget is phenomenal - her energy, vibe and passion are out of this world and bring a unique and memorable experience beyond photography. ..And, of course, the quality of her work is world-class. I would recommend her any day. SIMON BWERINOFA
