JOHANNESBURG FAMILY PHOTOGRAPhy
I'm a Johannesburg family photographer, creating unforgettable family photos for discerning clients since 2005.
Time flies. I can stop it.
Mom, let me capture your entire family where you feature for a change!
Browse my family portfolio; unlike others, you will see timeless works of art.
I can do the same for your family with strikingly crafted lighting.
It is a value-for-value exchange and an incredible investment.
I charge a professional rate of R2500 for my time, equipment and creative juices.
From an incredible selection of images, you will buy those you love.
What you purchase is entirely up to you.
Images are sold individually and are R750 each.
You are my typical client if you want a family photographer with a timeless style who produces the highest quality images to create family art.
You will be surprised at how easily I will put everyone at ease - for some reason, people trust me quickly.
I pose everyone, which takes time, and they reconfigure themselves almost immediately, and that is when I capture the moment.
When you revisit these photos, they will take you to the moment and, most importantly, remind you exactly how you felt then.
My superpower is seeing and knowing how to blend family ties and emotions.
Trust me to make a fool of myself with everyone, which I steal at 125th of a second.
Less is more. I specialise in the most comprehensive and detailed editing but focus on a natural retouching method.
It is crucial to choose a family photographer whose style resonates with you.
My portrait style has been the same since 2005; it is unique and timeless, never trendy or cheesy.
If you've fallen in love with my work, it's because you love how it makes you feel.
I never outsource to another. If I can't take your photos, I will reschedule your session.
Choose a photographer with a gallery of consistent professional family images, making me the perfect choice.
You're all the stars of this show.
Plan everyone's wardrobes; although not the focus, it can throw a great photo shoot.
- My signature look is black clothing of various textures and shades against a black background and white against a white background; the contrast makes everyone jump out.
- Alternatively, please choose a colour palette that everyone can interpret; it's more pleasant to the eye. This takes planning, so let the boss in the family make it happen.
- Create layers using textures which provide interest - ribbed jersey, jeans or something that sparkles.
- Avoid overpowering the photos with loud outfits unless you wear traditional or sentimental clothing.
- Cover your arms with a long sleeve or scarf if you don't want them to show.
- If anything needs dry cleaning or ironing, take care of it.
- If you are unsure, browse my family gallery for ideas; call me or bring everything, and I will guide you.
If visits to the hairdresser are due, go a week before the shoot; the cut will grow a bit, and there will be time to get used to it.
Hands and Nails
So often overlooked, trim everyone's nails as they become the second act when interacting. If you colour your fingernails, choose a neutral or clear tone.
Mum, I recommend natural makeup over complete makeovers but can arrange professional makeup for an additional fee.
Drink water the day before and on the day of your session. It reduces puffiness.
I use black and white backgrounds for my family photo shoots.
I want your photos to stand out from the average family photos.
I use a simple one-light setup on black backgrounds, silhouette images, and high-key lighting for white backgrounds.
View your photo session as a family investment for generations to enjoy.
Remember, you can't frame a digital file.
I strongly believe in enlarged prints and professionally framed; it is so rewarding.
I am passionate about working with my clients to create a family wall gallery that can expand over time.
My studio offers a beautiful range of quality products.
Then & Now
Not many parents wish they had fewer photos of their family; it's seldom the other way around. I have been passionate about capturing families since 2005, building priceless then-and-now galleries.
My standards are high - let me capture an award-winning portrait of your family.
I am thrilled to be among only two photographers in Africa awarded a Master's portrait accreditation from the Portrait Masters.
The next steps are easy
You think you have time. Next month. Next year.
Time flies. Let me make it stand still.
Your family photo session includes a pre-shoot telephone consultation; we will discuss wardrobe, lighting and posing styles.
I want to meet your expectations, so I will ask you to send me examples you like.
Expect the unexpected. Leave me to sort out the chaos; the more, the better.
Bring the grandparents and convince the black sheep - it costs nothing extra - the photos will mean the world to everyone over time.
