The book itself
Each portrait book is designed around the photographs you choose.
Lay-flat pages allow the portraits to be seen without interruption, with photographs arranged to work naturally from one page to the next.
The materials are chosen for their weight, texture and longevity.
These are books made to be handled.
Opened.
Passed around.
And returned to years later.
They are made to be lived with.
Choosing the photographs
A portrait book does not need to include everything.
Once you have chosen your final portraits, I arrange them so that the photographs work together across the pages.
Some need space.
Some belong beside each other.
Others are stronger on their own.
You don't need to decide any of this yourself.
You choose the portraits. I take care of the book.
Portrait books and framed portraits
You don't have to choose between a book and a portrait on the wall.
Many clients choose both.
A framed portrait becomes part of the room.
A portrait book holds the photographs they want to return to together.
