The beginning
Standing together
Forehead to forehead
Growing together
Still playful
Together, still
The familiar place
Held, differently
The gesture remains
The laughter
Wrapped around her
The years held together
In her arms
Face to face
The familiar embrace
The joy of it
Held close
Nearly grown
Taller than Mum
Almost a man
Side by side
Looking up
What remains
A quiet moment
The growing boy
A little taller
The years between
Arms around her
His turn to hold
Across the years
The familiar smile
Still together
