Pregnancy is a threshold.
A season of becoming, felt in the body and far beyond it.
My maternity portraits are created in my Johannesburg studio for women and families who want this chapter photographed with elegance, presence, and care. These are not trend-led images. They are portraits shaped by light, connection, and presence.
Here, light, space, and direction are carefully controlled.
This work is photographed slowly and with precision.
Black backgrounds, sculpted light, refined posing, and quiet direction create portraits that feel lasting and composed. The focus is not only the bump, but the woman carrying this moment and the quiet shift taking place within it.
These are not just portraits of pregnancy, but of the woman carrying it.
Pregnancy is rarely an individual story.
Partners, children, and pets are welcome where they meaningfully belong in the frame. Their presence can bring tenderness, anticipation, playfulness, and the sense of a family becoming something new.
Sessions take place in my private Johannesburg studio and are guided with care from beginning to end.
I help with posing, styling, and pace so that you feel supported rather than self-conscious.
Most maternity sessions are photographed between 30 and 35 weeks, when the bump is beautifully defined and movement is still comfortable.
If you are drawn to maternity portraits shaped by presence, connection, and the quiet significance of this time, you can read more about the experience here.
Pregnancy is one chapter. The story continues.
Portraits for the first days of arrival, connection, and new life.
The stage where expression begins to emerge and personality becomes visible.
Portraits that hold the closeness, character, and continuity of family.
